4 Homemade DIY + Non-Toxic Cleaning Products

When it comes to personal care products, we could talk for hours about the harmful chemicals that exist within our favorite household products. Everything from the makeup we choose at the grocery store to the soap we use to wash our hands can seem safe until we understand what the ingredients are and how they impact our health. The majority of cleaning products that we’ve grown up with have ingredients that disrupt our hormones, weaken our immune systems and create a variety of illnesses. If you’re curious and interested in learning more, we get into this topic and the concept of heavy toxic loads in this blog post here.

For now, we want to focus on our favorite non-toxic cleaning products that you can pickup at the store or make yourself so that you can keep your family safe - especially as we get into spring cleaning season.

FYI - As a rule of thumb, never mix ammonia based cleaners with chlorine bleach or any product containing bleach. This will create fumes that are toxic and extremely dangerous. When using these products, always keep your windows open for ventilation, and keep cleaners away from children and animals.
